Ultimate Utility Bicycle By IDEO Design Team
Hoping to answer the non-profit organization Oregon Manifest’s mission to show that bikes can make the world a better place, a team of designers called IDEO worked together to create Faraday, a high quality electronic bike that’s seamlessly classic with a modern twist. This masterpiece was created in the non-profit’s biennial national competition that challenged top bike builders to make the ultimate utility bicycle.

At the end of 2010 London based designer Andy Martin was asked by THONET to design and develop a concept road bicycle using their steam bending process developed in the 1930s. Andy Martin Studio developed three designs of which the final was selected because its beauty and modest connection with the heritage of the company.

Velopresso, A Mobile Coffee Cart Serving The Streets Of London

The 100mph bike – designed in the bath and made from an old saucepan

Former world champion cyclist Graeme Obree has shown that it is not just Greek inventor Archimedes who can benefit from a long soak in the bath.
Because having dreamed up his unusual new bike while in the tub the 46-year-old hopes to use his own eureka moment to smash a land speed record.
Constructed in his one bed flat in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, Obree has assembled the machine from bits and bobs around his home.
With homemade wheels and shoulder rests made from an old saucepan the machine, ridden horizontally, was assembled by Obree in an attempt to reach 100mph.

Futuristic Hubless Bicycle Design by John Villarreal
The latest work of Wisconsin-based designer John Villarreal is this futuristic hubless bicycle design that shows a peek into the future as materials and manufacturing advance. The idea of the new concept features an identical bike design that removing all extra parts from the body and wheels. The bike design looks not only breathtaking and elegant, but also comfortable. Featuring a lightweight body, possibly finished in carbon fiber, the futuristic bicycle also integrates LED lights on the handlebar and at the rear to ensure safety at night. And last, but not the least: the hubless wheels give a trendy and futuristic look to the bicycle design. Great work, Mr. John Villarreal.

This concept by Allen Chester G. Zhang was designed to be easily transported between work and play. It can be stowed quickly as it folds at the center to create a barely-there yet aesthetically pleasing accessory. Unfold to expose it’s natural suspension shape and gear-to-gear spoke less wheels. Fluorescent copper-zinc components add not only to it’s aesthetic appeal but the rider’s safety. The color choices on this model are a beautiful combination.
